UB Tournaments

UB, home of renowned poker pros such as Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth, is no stranger to tournament play. In fact, when you take into account that the face of UB, Phil Hellmuth, is the guy with the most WSOP bracelets EVER and is generally revered as a tournament only guy, you would realize that his room should also have a beefy stable of tournaments for the delight of its tourney players.

And alas, UB does deliver.

But first, lets talk about structure. You know, that which is invisible yet will affect your play greatly, which is the starting chip counts and the blind level raises etc. UB boasts one of the industrys best tourney structures, which it applies as default to all its games. Thats right, the default standard structures which it applies to all its games, including Sit-N-Gos, gives the player room to maneuver through the game without becoming a push-fold fest too early.

But enough about that. Lets now talk about the types of tournaments that are on offer at UB. You have varying buy-ins of Multi-Table Tournaments in all the heavyweights, which are NLHE, LHE, PLHE, PLO, Razz, Stud, Stud8, Omaha8 etc. The buy-ins range from mere pennies to $1000+. These would be what we call Standard Fare MTTs, so move along, nothing to see here.

UB also offers its own Steps system for Live Tourney Satellites, which is great to help you qualify for a large Live Tournament while only expending a fraction of the buy-in. You can buy into the Steps tournaments with Ultimate Points as well. The tourneys you could qualify to play in via these tournaments would include WSOP events, WPT events, etc.

There are also tons and tons of Sit-N-Gos available which you can beat for a good ROI all because of that excellent structure which actually rewards good tourney play, and not just the luckiest bastards. Sit-N-Gos are available in many poker variants as well.

UB thinks about those with smaller (or complete lack of) bankrolls, and has many freerolls running around the clock. You play for free, yet can win real cash or Ultimate Points prizes. You could also freeroll your way into bigger live tournaments as well with UB.

There are also Sniper (or Bounty) tournaments available. Bounty tournaments place a prize on every players head, and the player who knocks out another player gets to collect the prize on the head of the player he/she/it knocked out. Its an innovative way of earning your buy-in back while still competing for a great prize.

Ever felt left out when the registration for a tournament ended just before you could register? At UB there are tournaments which will allow late tourney registration, by saving two seats per table for players who have not registered yet. The late registration will continue until one of the following becomes true:

  • An existing player is knocked out of the tournament (this does not include players in re-buy tournaments who elect to re-buy).
  • The end of the first level of blinds is reached.
  • All of the seats left open for late registrants are filled.

UB has daily $1K GTD, $1K GTD (1R + A) and $1.5K guaranteed NLHE and PLO Tourneys at smaller buy-ins, from $2.20 up to $16.50. These are great to help you build a roll to take your game to the big boys playground. For the really bankroll challenged, there is a $5K GTD turbo plus rebuy tourney of a $1+0.10 buy-in which usually gets a massive overlay, and this is daily at 9PM EST. Another great tourney which usually has a massive overlay is the $30+3 $8K GTD which runs at 3PM ET every day. Daily sniper tournaments are pretty well visited, so do not expect an overlay in those, but still you can make good money by pulling a Jamie Gold on the field.

As to the big boys playground, the offerings are fairly plentiful too. UB offers a $50K GTD in 6-max, deepstack, rebuy, and deepstack 6-max formats in $300+20 and $500+30 buy-ins. They offer a $75K GTD with a buy-in of $500+30 then there is a $1000+50 buy-n $150K GTD tournament that plays every Wednesday at 8:30 PM ET. Sundays at 4PM ET UB also offers a $200K GTD $200+15 tournament which does not get too crowded with entrants which means you have a great chance to take home the big one.

As you can see, if you are a tourney player, then UB has all the bases covered for you. Use our exclusive UB bonus code FTR111 and get a massive $1,100 UB bonus when opening a new account!
